These luxurious bar globes are handcrafted in Italy according to tradition as they were made in Renaissance Florence circa 1500's. The process by the artisan is much the same today as it was then. The exterior of the globe is hand-laid paper which is applied to the exterior of the globe in a manner which is similar to the application of wall paper. As the paper is laid on the spherical globe it is seen that the lines of latitude do not meet precisely. This is normal and the globes of that era were produced in this manner
